vegan "big mac" | hot for food by Lauren Toyotasource: https://www.hotforfoodblog.com/recipes/2015/04/23/vegan-big-mac/You know those nights when you just feel like a big mac? Well, don’t go get one, because you’ll hate yourself afterwards.Instead, make this vegan big mac at home and hate yourself a little less from the comfort of your couch! I hope you know I’m joking. I haven’t hated myself after eating ONCE since going vegan 2 years ago.I made this using Gardein’s Ultimate Beefless Burger patties and Fieldroast’s Chao Cheese, and I made a quick big mac-style dressing from vegan mayonnaise (recipe follows). When it comes to vegan mayonnaise, I really like Earth Island (Follow Your Heart) to make any dips and sauces where I’m adding my own flavors and ingredients to it. Wildwood’s Zesty Garlic Aioli (no seasoning required) is great for when I just want a little flavor on sandwiches.I also have to admit that my vegan big mac looks a lot more alive than the one you get at the drive through!vegan “big mac”Ingredients2 vegan burger patties2 tsp barbecue sauce2 slices of vegan cheddar cheese1 1/2  large kaiser rollsthese ingredients to your likingboston leaf lettucefinely minced white or red onionrelish or picklesvegan “big mac” sauce 1/4 C vegan mayonnaise1 tbsp lime juice or lemon juice1/2 tbsp hot sauce 1/2 tsp onion powderInstructionsCombine all the sauce ingredients together in a bowl and refrigerate until ready to assemble the vegan “big mac”.Cook vegan burger patties in a pan on the stove or on a barbecue, and baste them in barbecue sauce as you go. Add your burger patties with vegan cheddar cheese between each piece of bun, and then add onions, lettuce, and pickles to your liking.Dive in, and don’t forget lots of napkins! The post vegan “big mac” appeared first on hot for food by Lauren Toyota.
